National Association of Plan Advisors (NAPA) Recognizes Gallagher Retirement Plan Consulting Practice as a Top Defined Contribution Advisor Firm

ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill., Jan. 10, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Sustaining a healthy workplace culture requires a total compensation strategy that includes helping every employee improve their path to retirement. The Gallagher Retirement Plan Consulting Practice was recognized by the National Association of Plan Advisors (NAPA) as one of their Top Defined Contribution (DC) Advisor Firms, which further emphasizes the high level of care and attention the team brings in helping Americans prepare for a financially satisfying retirement.

NAPA's lists are considered to be a Who's Who in the world of retirement plans and retirement plan advisors. The 2019 list, which focuses on firms with at least $100 million in assets under advisement, represents more than $640 billion in DC assets under advisement, and underscores the positive impact plan advisors and support personnel are making in today's retirement landscape. According to Gallagher's 2018 Benefits Strategy & Benchmarking Survey, DC plans, such as a 401(k) or 403(b), continue to be the most common choices (77 percent) for retirement savings.

With more of the responsibilities and risks for funding retirement now squarely on the individual, controllable financial behaviors are becoming increasingly important in the new retirement landscape. Gallagher's Retirement Plan Consulting practice, now part of Gallagher's Financial & Retirement Services, is focused on helping a multigenerational workforce learn how to save more, be more knowledgeable about investments, live within their means and tap into the expertise of a financial advisor when necessary.

"We are excited to be recognized by NAPA for what our team strives to achieve every day:  helping people with their overall financial wellbeing through the valuable DC plan vehicles offered by their employers. It is a privilege to provide education so participants are financially ready for what life brings them during their career and ultimately retirement. Whether the goals are to assist with savings for emergency purposes, reducing education debt, allowing grandparents to retire and spend more time with their grandchildren, or all of the above," said Jeff Leonard, Gallagher's North America Financial & Retirement Services Leader.

Gallagher offices in Illinois, Ohio, Houston, and the Heartland region earned spots on NAPA's list of top DC Advisor Teams for 2018.

The National Association of Plan Advisors was created by and for retirement plan advisors. Membership is also open to other retirement industry professionals who support the interest of plan advisors. NAPA is the only advocacy group exclusively focused on the issues that matter to retirement plan advisors. NAPA is part of the American Retirement Association, based in the Washington, D.C. area.
